About the Data
What is the Rio de Janeiro Feminicide Observatory Data Portal?
It is an online tool that gathers information on violence against women in the state of Rio de Janeiro in interactive dashboards, with charts and maps that can be filtered and explored by the user.
What is it for?
It allows visualizing the situation of violence against girls and women by municipality, helping managers and researchers identify where problems are most severe.
Data is also organized according to the critical path, the journey taken by women experiencing violence when seeking help:
- 1. Municipal protection network and reporting channels (180 and 190)
- 2. Health (notifications of violence and female mortality)
- 3. Social assistance
- 4. Public Security (police reports)
- 5. State justice overview
Why is this important?
Visual and interactive dashboards facilitate diagnosis, allowing comparison of regions and stages of the critical path, and supporting and evaluating evidence-based public policies.
